The company started in the kitchen and bath renovation business in 1987. Barry’s father had a successful home renovation business in the UK. After Barry worked in this business, he went on to develop a career in corporate management in Canada and the USA. During this time he kept the use of his renovation skills as a hobby, renovating the homes he purchased during his numerous corporate moves. Upon “retiring” from the corporate world, Barry decided to return to his original career and augment his renovation skills with training in kitchen and bath design. XL Kitchen and Bath Design Inc, formally known as Canadian Kitchens and Baths, was founded.

Barry has over 100 happy customers located in all areas of the North Shore willing to tell of their positive experiences with the company. In 1998 Barry was successful in bringing Laura’s expertise in design and colour to the company.

XL Kitchen and Bath is a member of the NKBA; National Kitchen and Bath Association. Barry and Laura both participate in the activities of the local chapter and continue to take ongoing professional design training.
